THEMES FOR THE UPCOMING ISSUES 2018-2019

Theme1: Transformation in Education (May 2018 Issue):

How can classrooms be transformed for better learning? What makes effective when people talk about professional developments, how professional development can transform practices? How will the new laws in your state & country transform educational practices? What new practices can help transforming approaches educational research? What helps in transforming school leadership practices to make them better? How can assessment methods be transformed to make touch the highest level of Bloom’s Taxonomy? Why Transformation matters in education? Do you know the stories of change agents who transformed themselves and helped others to transform in the education sector; share their stories? How are leading brands in education optimistic for better practices? What new Apps can help educators to transform their practices and leaders for a better condition to learn? What steps can be taken by the policymakers to make education powerful and transform outdated practices into more practical ensuring equity?

Submissions looking at research on the potential of new assessment approaches, as well as implementation challenges, are also encouraged.

Theme 2: Leadership in Education (September 2018)

How school leadership brings better conditions for a learning environment? What are the qualities of effective leadership in education? What makes a successful School Leadership? What qualities and effectiveness are required to promote Leadership? How teacher leadership supports School Leadership? How can Leadership be instilled in the students? How can be a teacher a Leader in her class? What is essential to promote in a Leadership role? What formats, tools, apps can help school leaders to work effectively? How can school leadership ensure equity in schools? How educational leadership changes mindsets? Why is it important to have more leaders than managers in education? Does the phrase education leadership keeps some status at the university level? How leadership in education helps reforming the practices; quote examples.

Submissions looking at research on the potential of new approaches, as well as implementation challenges, are also encouraged.

Theme 3: The Right Assessment (January 2019)

How does assessment help in the learning process? What formats and tools can be used in an assessment to be less judgmental? How the inclusive assessments are designed and implemented? What assessment formats such as problem-based, project-based can bring more pieces of evidence about understanding? What can help a teacher to decide about the frequency of assessment? To what extent formative assessment is more powerful than summative? How should assessment formats be differentiated? Can home works, assignment, and projects work as real assessment tools? How effective are assessment strategies at every stage of learning? Most of the student have exam phobia, how to get rid of that, what looks like a fearless assessment? What apps, tools, and apps can help teachers designing rubrics and using them in assessments? How rubrics are designed and what brings rubrics’ effectiveness? What reforms are required in standardized exams and how they can be made effective? What assessment systems work better at higher education? How the coherence of instructional strategies and assessment strategies can be ensured?

Theme 4: Life Long Learning (May 2019)

What do you think of lifelong learning? What instructional practices ensure lifelong learning? How to focus on lifelong learning can be a turning point in a country’s development; tell us some examples. What makes a student; lifelong learner? How can school leadership focus on lifelong learning and develop right conditions? What modern educational research tells about lifelong learning? How neurosciences support the idea of lifelong learning? Do the parents play an important role in lifelong learning and if so; how? How a school environment and cultural responses play an important role in lifelong learning? To what extent contemporary practices and culture are challenges in the way to the lifelong learning? How to bridge the gap in different educational sectors to ensure that student stays successful? Do you know about any change agent who came up with new ideas, strategies, and examples for learning? Share research outcomes, your classrooms practices, leadership roles, policies at school and government levels that ensure that the children emerge as lifelong learners.

Issue 5: Thinking Big, Questioning Big! (to be published in October 2019)

Why big ideas have worth? How can curriculum mapping help thinking big? What are the significant challenges in designing big questions? How can students learn to question? What instructional practices help the students grasping a bigger picture? How can leadership roles help the students in relating the content to real-world problems? Do the textbooks and current practices support questioning? What significant changes do you suggest in the schooling process that help thinking big? At which grade level, it is more challenging to groom questioning skills and why; can you suggest the improvements?
We love questions in the classroom to groom better learners. We would like to publish juicy pieces suggesting methods, ideas, practices to nurture the culture of questioning in the classrooms.

Last Submission Date: 5th  September 2019 (to be published in December 2019)

Issue 6: Engaging learners

What strategies help the learner feel engaged? How social and emotional learning helps in better engagement of the learners? Can you share some tools for the teachers to support engaged learning? What sort of professional developments are needed to train the teachers for engaged learning? How neuroscience plays a role in engaged learning? How psychological needs and traumas affect engaged learning; Suggest how to handle them? What functions are represented by the learner’s family and social background? What should a teacher know to improve engagement? Many teachers find it challenging to engage middle school children. What strategies do you suggest to engage such children? How adolescent mindsets work to get more engaged? How Whole Child ‘Tenet’ engaged learning’ helped you in getting a better understanding of engaged learning?
We want to know how the classrooms can be improved as ‘engaged learning spots’. We will publish any submission suggesting ideas, methods, frameworks, strategies improve learning in the classrooms.
